Introduction to Coding
[Beginner Level] No prior knowledge needed.
Our curriculum focuses on the fundamental concepts behind coding. We include higher-level computation problems due to the stronger mathematical foundation in this age group.
Main Takeaway
- Fundamental concepts
- Basic C coding
- Build problem-solving skills with problem archive Kattis
- Higher-level algorithm thinking
We will be using a free online compiler to do hands-on coding

L1. How to run a code
Introduce the wide variety of applications that you can create with code. Easy-to-understand metaphors to link programming to our daily lives. Learn how to use an IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
L2. Data Types and Operations
What kind of data can you create and the meaning behind the various operators. We will learn about int, char, float and void.
L3. If-Else and Loops
We will learn the logic behind conditional statements. How to write loop statements and how to prevent infinite loops.
L4. Program Structure
The skeleton structure of a basic program - Headers, Functions, Main, Returns, etc. The different kinds of declarations you can make in your program.
L5. Data Storage
How the program stores the data that you have created. We will learn about Arrays, Pointers and Structures.
